Abstract

Abstract

Obesity, which is developing very rapidly in the world, may be the possible reasons for the decrease in sperm quality in men. It affects the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonal axis and increases the amount of hormones such as estrogen and leptin released from adipose tissue, while decreasing testosterone and inhibin B. Obesity can lead to increased scrotal temperature, erectile dysfunction and DNA breaks of spermatozoa, and negatively affects the results of assisted reproductive techniques (ART). affects. Research is still needed to reliably analyze the effects of interventional surgery on erectile and reproductive function in obese men.
