Publication ethics of the Journal

The “Reproductive Medicine (Central Asia)” Journal adheres to the principles of publication ethics developed and approved by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). In the event of a suspected violation of these principles, the Journal’s Еditorial Board will adhere to COPE recommendations.

The Publisher takes into account the best practices of leading international scientific journals. The Еditor-in-Сhief, Еditorial Council, and Еditorial Board of the Journal are committed to eradicating unethical practices in publication activities (such as plagiarism or the presentation of false information). When submitting a manuscript for publication, authors confirm that it is not under consideration elsewhere and has not been previously published and all borrowed materials are appropriately cited. Additionally, all submitted manuscripts undergo anti-plagiarism checks.

Every member of the Еditorial Board, authors, reviewers, and the Publisher must adhere to publication ethics norms and rules designed to safeguard aauthors’rights to intellectual property and prevent the unlawful use of copyrighted materials. All individuals involved in preparing materials for publication in the Journal are expected to uphold the standards of publication ethics outlined here.

The Еditorial Board retains the right to reject a manuscript if, in the opinion of its members, it does not align with the Journal’s Aims and Scope, does not adhere to the Authors’ Guidelines, or violates the ethical standards governing the dissemination of scientific work results.

Responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief

The Editor-in-Chief exercises ethical oversight over the reviewing, editing, and publishing processes.

Publication decisions: The Еditor-in-Сhief has the final word regarding publishing a manuscript. This decision is guided by the Editorial BBoard’spolicy but may be subject to limitations imposed by current legislation. When deciding on publication, the Editor-in-Chief may seek input from Editorial Board members and reviewers.

Fair play: The Еditor-in-Сhief evaluates the intellectual content of manuscripts without regard to the author’s race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political views.

Confidentiality: The Еditor-in-Сhief and the staff of the Еditorial Board are prohibited from disclosing information about the received manuscript to anyone other than the authors, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial consultants, and the Publisher.

Complaints and appeals: The Editor-in-Chief addresses complaints regarding violations of principles and standards of scientific and/or publication ethics and unethical behavior by participants in the publication process. Anonymous complaints will not be considered. Participants subject to a complaint have the right to submit evidence refuting the complaint (in paper and/or electronic format) and file an appeal. Upon receiving a complaint or appeal, the relevant facts must be promptly investigated, and necessary action must be taken.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewing aids the Еditor-in-Сhief in making editorial decisions.

Reviewers are specialists and recognized scientists in the field corresponding to the subject, with academic degrees and experience in the relevant medical area. Reviews must be objective, clear, and well-reasoned.

Disclosure and conflicts of interest: Journal editors and reviewers are prohibited from using any unpublished materials from submitted manuscripts in their own research without the author’s written consent.

Confidentiality: All manuscripts submitted for review must be treated as strictly confidential. The manuscript and relevant materials should not be disclosed to anyone except those authorized by the Еditor-in-Сhief to get acquainted with them. Discussing the manuscript and its materials with anyone not involved in the publication process is also forbidden. Confidential information or ideas obtained during the review process should be kept secret and not used for personal interests.

Obligations of authors

Submissions must adhere to the Journal’s Publication Policy, these Publication Ethics, and Authors’Guidelines.

Reproducibility: Authors conducting original research must accurately account for the work performed and objectively discuss its significance. In each original article, authors are required to ensure the reproducibility of research results, detail the research methodology, and specify the origin of equipment and materials (including company and country), methods of statistical data processing, and other techniques used in the study.

Data Sharing: Upon the editorial office’s request, authors should furnish baseline research data and be ready to grant open access to such data if feasible. In any case, authors should be prepared to retain this data for a period of at least five years after publication.

Borrowing: Authors must submit original material for publication. Any borrowed material (works and/or citations of other authors) requires proper bibliographic references.

Originality: An author shall not publish or attempt to publish a manuscript describing the same research in multiple journals. 

Authorship and Contributorship: Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the concept, scientific design, execution, or interpretation of the claimed scientific research and the preparation of the manuscript. All contributors should be listed as co-authors, with other contributors mentioned in the Acknowledgments section. All co-authors, represented by the corresponding author, must endorse the final version of the manuscript as agreed upon with the editors and approve its publication in the Journal.

Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest when submitting a manuscript.

Post-publication Corrections and Retractions: An author who identifies a material error or inaccuracy in the published article shall report it to the Editorial Board of the Journal and collaborate with the Editorial Board to retract or correct such an article.

If violations of publication ethics are detected (plagiarism, data manipulation, duplicate submissions, guest authorship, conflict of interest, etc.) in a submitted manuscript or published article, the author is obliged to cooperate with the editors to restore the violated rights, and if errors are discovered, to facilitate the publication of corrections or refutations. Reports of unethical behavior are considered regardless of when the article was published or the manuscript was submitted.

Copyright: The rights to a manuscript accepted for publication are transferred to the Journal Publisher. When reprinting all or part of the material, the author must provide proper attribution to the primary publication in this Journal.
