Abstract

Relevance: Endometriosis is a chronic condition in women of reproductive age with symptoms of irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, and infertility. Endometriosis is characterized by chronic pelvic pain, secondary dysmenorrhea, dyspareunia, infertility, and abnormal uterine bleeding.

According to the American Clinical College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, endometriosis occurs in 7-10% of the total number of women, in 50% of women in a state of premenopause, and is the cause of infertility in 38% of women. Most endometriosis localizations are genital, 92-94%, and extragenital cases account for 8%. The prevalence of this pathology is extremely high. Endometriosis was found in 176 million women aged 15 to 49 years globally, and almost 5 million in Russia.
The study aimed to describe a rare case of endometriosis of the parietal and visceral peritoneum of the abdominal organs and pelvis.
Materials and Methods: The study describes a rare clinical case of endometriosis of the abdominal and pelvic organs peritoneum treated in the «Daru Zharygy» Clinic (Aktobe, Kazakhstan) in 2023.

Results: A histological examination of the material revealed a histological pattern characteristic of endometrioid disease: a combination of glands lined with endometrial-type epithelium with endometrial cytogenic stroma, hemorrhages, and full blood vessels.
There was lymph-macrophage infiltration in the stroma and tissues immediately surrounding them.
Epithelial functional activity was characterized by epithelial hyperplasia, increased neoangiogenesis, and the formation of smallcaliber vessels in foci of endometrioid heterotopia with hemorrhages into the surrounding stroma.
Conclusion: This case highlights the importance of early diagnosis and timely intervention in endometriosis, especially in rare sites such as peritoneal involvement.
